Let go of what you thought life should turn out to be for yourself.
When faced with perceived setbacks, sometimes we are forced to try new things and discover another way of leaving a mark in other peoples' lives.
Upon her foray into the field of economics, The Great Recession (2007-2008) created extremely high barriers to entry into the job market for everyone, including Rachel. Many of her former classmates extolled their experiences of the Peace Corps, which is why she decided to accelerate her plans to get involved in the Peace Corps and help others. During her service, she assisted veteran dentists in emergency dental care procedures and felt a great sense of reward for helping change someone’s life for the better. Since then, she’s never looked back and continues to lead a fulfilling dental career.
Before the coronavirus pandemic, Rachel enjoyed physical activities that included boxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu (mixed martial arts). Most recently, as a new mother, she enjoys playing hide-and-seek, peek-a-boo, and nurturing her baby son.
