Registered Dental Hygienist Position - Lux Smiles Dental

Registered dental hygienist needed full time for Jai H. Shin, DDS, PLLC general and cosmetic dental practice. The office is primarily paperless and based on Easy Dental practice management system; and Dexis and EVAsoft x-ray software systems. Experience and ease with digital technology and willingness to keep up with its advances is necessary. This dental practice expects staff to be punctual, professional, friendly, and have positive energy.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve implemented safeguards to protect each other with new protocols and equipment. For everyone who enters our office, we require a cloth face covering or mask at all times, except in times when patients are undergoing a procedure. Our office has hand sanitizers, sneeze guards, and air purifiers to reduce possibilities of transmission. Patients are screened over the phone, when confirming their appointment, and again upon their arrival to the office. To ensure we continue to keep each other safe, all our team members are vaccinated.

A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS’ DENTAL HYGIENIST EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED, WITH COMPETENCE AND CONFIDENCE IN THE FOLLOWING A MUST:

  • Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
  • Sterilize dental instruments properly
  • Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
  • Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
  • Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
  • Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
  • Take X-rays and dental impressions
  • Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
  • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
  • Monitor supplies

The office has both fee-for-service and PPO insurance clientele. Confidence, ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone, orientation to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks are essential to this position. Experience in other dental office positions is beneficial. Team players who are willing to take the initiative and pitch in to ensure efficient operations are highly desirable.
